This website is your official resource for all things
about our mission and activities.
We believe that everybody should have the opportunity to live a quality life, especially those who suffer from debilitating medical conditions. We are a network of individuals, businesses and other organizations with a commitment to improving the quality of life and reducing the cost of care for Oregonians with debilitating medical conditions. We are a 501(c)(3) public charity headquartered in Salem, Oregon.
“Facilitate or assist access to quality of life products, therapies and other services for Oregonians with debilitating medical conditions.”
THE COST OF QUALITY CARE
WHAT WE DO
P:S facilitates its Patient Members in obtaining reduced-cost products, therapies and
other services through direct donations from public and business supporters. Individuals and businesses that have an interest in ensuring patients have access to less costly, more natural and sustainable health solutions, may become supporting members. Our mission and community are rooted deep in compassionate care for our relatives, friends and neighbors.
Our mission focuses on Oregonians who have debilitating medical conditions.
P:S has adopted the same definition for "debilitating medical condition" as the state of Oregon has, under Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 475B.791. Any Oregonian that is qualified to have a patient card with the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program (OMMP), may be qualified for P:S patient membership. Especially those who qualify for reduced OMMP card fees by currently being enrolled in SNAP, OHP, receiving SSI benefits or by being a veteran of the US military. Patient members are the only membership type that may receive approved donations of products, therapies and other services. P:S patient members with an active OMMP card are the only member type that may receive donations of cannabis and cannabinoid products through participating OLCC licensees, throughout the state of Oregon.
One of the main features of P:S membership is the membership card. It is designed to offer secure access to discounted offerings and donations for patient members and added value to our supporters and business members through market supported member discounts. These cards will be printed with barcode and magnetic stripe technology so that our member benefits can be issued easily at the point of sale at participating businesses. Security features such as holographic overlays and member picture ensure that our cards are just as safe and secure as your state issue ID.
PROJECT:SCARECROW recognizes the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) that exists in all mammals. The importance of phytocannabinoids and cannabinoid therapy for human health and wellness purposes, is well documented. The United States even held US Patent# 6630507 until 4/21/19, stating that Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties. Properties that make cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. For more information on the ECS, we have provided an Introduction to the ECS, by Dr. Ethan Russo.
